Possible Symptoms
A bad ECM in the 2001-2003 Toyota Highlander may cause any of numerous symptoms, but the most common are:
- The engine won’t start
- Transmission harsh-shifting problems
- May give several error codes while all sensors check good
- In some circumstances, it will fix P0420 (most times, this problem is external to the ECM)
