NOTES FOR REMOVING THE ECM:

– Remove any water from the ECM cover and edges before removing the ECM.
– No water should come into contact with the inside of the ECM.

 

ECM REMOVAL PROCESS:

 

1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the engine room side cover by removing the 3 clips and then the cover.
3. Remove the ECM cover by removing the 3 bolts attaching it.
4. Remove the ECM by removing the 2 nuts and disconnecting the terminals.
5. Remove the gasket of the ECM by peeling off the sponge part of the gasket
6. If the ECM is sticky after removing the gasket, you may clean it by covering the ECM connector with a rag or similar, and spraying a solvent (like gasket remover), or using alcohol, or an equivalent on the remaining tape of the gasket.
7. Mail us your ECM for repair.

    I sent in the ECM for my 2006–2007 Lexus IS250 2.5L on June 4th and received it back on June 13th. USPS managed to lose two days in transit both ways, but that delay had absolutely nothing to do with Richard.

    Before the repair, my car had a harsh downshift from 2nd to 1st and an occasional hesitation when dropping to 4rth from 5th. After Richard’s work, both issues are completely gone. The car shifts smoothly again.

    Richard’s customer service is exceptional. He messaged me the moment I placed my order, updated me when he received the ECM, and notified me immediately when the repair was finished. His turnaround time was unbelievably fast, easily the quickest I’ve ever seen for automotive electronics.
