Shipping
We ship products and services via USPS and FedEx.
PRODUCTS
The free shipping, or the paid shipping charge included in the cart when you order a PRODUCT, is to cover the shipment of such product to your location.
SERVICES
Free shipping, or the paid shipping charge included in the cart when you order a SERVICE, covers shipping your item back to you when the service is completed (outbound shipping). This does not include shipping the unit to our location (inbound shipping).
LEAD TIME
All products have a processing time, or “lead time“, which is a maximum waiting time before your package is actually shipped to you. This time is between 1 and 10 calendar days, and it is specified on each product’s information page. This time allows us to request the product from our warehouse, do any programming or specific work as needed, test it, and pack it. Again, this is the maximum time in calendar days, but most orders have a shorter lead time.
RATES
You can calculate the exact shipping rates available for your location with the provided shipping calculator, shown when you add a product or service to your cart.
To get accurate rates from the shipping calculator, enter the State, City, and Postal Code (if available). Rate calculations are often way off the actual rate if you don’t enter the needed information or enter it incorrectly.
We DO NOT profit from shipping. Any rate shown by the provided calculator is passed to you directly from USPS and FedEx via our digital connection (API) with both companies.
SHIPPING TO THE USA
The FREE return shipping option, available via USPS Priority Mail, is for locations in the USA and USA Territories. This covers the USA’s 48 contiguous States, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Alaska, the US Virgin Islands, Guam, and American Samoa.
The delivery time for the offered free shipping option to mainland USA locations will be 3 to 5 business days. For mainland USA locations, faster (paid) USPS and FedEx options deliver the next business day with FedEx Priority or 1-2 business days with USPS Express.
We accept PO Box (Post Office Box) addresses, but we can only ship them via USPS. FedEx will not accept those. We’ve stopped accepting APO (Army Post Office) addresses for now, as USPS has temporarily stopped that service.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT PORCH PIRACY
When we ship your package, we use USPS as a secure, fast way to get it to you. $100 insurance is automatically included in all packages shipped to our customers in the USA. This insurance covers damage or loss during shipping.
If you need extra insurance, please let us know so we can add the insurance cost to your invoice based on the item’s value. However, this insurance will NOT cover cases of porch piracy. If you live in an area where porch piracy is common, or if you have issues with mail (e.g., the postman dropping the package at the wrong address), please let us know if you require signature service for your shipment.
Signing for the package helps prevent porch piracy or delivery to the wrong address.
INTERNATIONAL LOCATIONS (OUTSIDE THE USA AND USA TERRITORIES)
Products and services shipped to international locations will ship via FedEx, and some, where available, can ship via USPS too. This is on a case-by-case basis, and when available, it will be shown in the shipping calculator.
IMPORTS TO THE USA
The new USA tariff system applies only to services for international locations where you need to send your unit here for repair or programming; that will count as an import to the USA.
In these cases, you will see a tariff block added to the end of the shipping calculator, consisting of two parts: the tariff itself (L2), and a fixed processing charge, L1 and L3. These are the import tariffs and fees charged by FedEx, DHL, or any other company that you may use to ship your unit here. No markups or extra charges are added to those amounts.
If the tariff is not charged to us when your package arrives, as it has often happened, we will refund the tariff charge to you. Also, if the tariff is charged and it is a minor amount, we will refund the difference to you.
