2005 toyota corolla 2006 toyota corolla 2007 toyota corolla immobilizer corolla lost keys
corolla immo toyta transponder car immobiliser immobilizer
Either lost your keys or got new ones and the vehicle is not starting? Your car computer (ecm or ecu) was replaced by an used one and not working? Does it cranks ok, but won't start? Or will start, but die in the next second? We can help!
If your original ecu was damaged and replaced by a second hand one, there is no problem with that, but it must be reset, so it accepts the key(s) you already have. If on the other hand, all your keys were lost and you ordered a new key set or you are using keys that were used for a similar car, the same reset must be applied, so the ecu accepts those keys. Toyota computers will not allow bypassing the immobilizer, but will allow to reset the system.
We can professionally do this job of resetting your ecu by reprogramming its immobilizer circuit. This service is offered for your 2005 - 2007 Toyota Corolla ecu, so it will work with your keys / ecu combination. You won't have to pay big $$$ to the dealer for a new ecu or for reprogramming and synchronizing your ecu to your current keys.
This service applies to all the 2005 - 2007 Corolla ecus with part numbers "89661-02###" that does not use a separated immobilizer module or "immobox". Examples are, but not limited to:
- 89661-02K22
- 89661-02K21
- 89661-02K20
- 89661-02D02
- 89661-02D01
- 89661-02C12
- 89661-02C11
- 89661-02K40
What is done to your ecu:
We have many years on automotive and electronics servicing experience and will do a high quality job on your ecu. Your ecu will be reprogrammed with special instruments and connectors, so the job is done without soldering or unsoldering any part. No parts are replaced, removed or added to your ecu's circuit. Changes are done by only reprogramming the immobilizer circuit, to bring the ecu to a "virgin" state (also known as "virginizing"), where it is ready to accept and lock to the first key set that is used with it, by storing in memory the key codes. For this, you just install your ecu back in your car after been serviced by us. Then you just put your key in the ignition cylinder for 10 seconds before starting the car. It is that easy!
The turnaround time of the service is only 1 day, except weekends and Holidays. As soon as we receive the ecu, it is reprogrammed the same day and shipped back the same or next business day. This service is perfect, as it will not disable your car's wonderful immobilizer system, which is an excellent anti-theft component. This will just "accommodate" the system to your existing keys.
NOTE: CEL light ("Check Engine Light") might be lit after the service, due to the fact that the reset process may remove the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) from the ecu programming. It can be done on any Toyota authorized dealer and it is an inexpensive job. The VIN number can only be entered with the ecu installed in the vehicle. This is normal and the same would happen if you would have bought a brand new ecu from a Toyota dealer. If you choose not to bring it to a dealer for entering the VIN number or leave it for later, there will be no malfunction at all and
ALL systems will be 100% working, including the immobilizer. You can do it whenever you find the time for it.
FAQ
Q. Why should I choose your service among the others available?
A. Because this service we offer is both highly professional and inexpensive. It is offered as an alternative, so customers do not need to pay the regular high prices for these type of services. Competitors charge much more for a similar service, which I can account that will NOT be as professional as ours. Also, going to the dealer is the last option you should consider, because if the dealer doesn't have the needed equipment (many do not have it), the only thing they can do is charge you for a new ecu (more than $1000), plus possible new keys and if the vehicle is out of the warranty coverage, a job charge will be added to all that.
Q. What is the immobilizer (also misspelled "immobiliser, imobiliser or imobilizer")?
A. The immobilizer is a theft deterrent system, incorporated in most modern cars from about 1998. It includes a transponder key (your car key), a transponder amplifier unit (in the key lock) and a processing circuit (an external immobox or inside the ecu itself).
The transponder key has an unique code that will be transmitted to its processing circuit via radio frequency (radio waves) and then will be matched to a code written in the ecu. If it matches after using some secret algorithms, the ecu will have an "OK" to start the engine. Otherwise, it will either cut ignition, fuel injection or both, while allowing the starter to operate. The special thing about this, is that it is dependent of the car computer, making it near impossible to deter.
Q. What is a transponder key?
A. It is a car key that has an electronic chip inside and is electromagnetically powered by the "antenna" inside the key lock cylinder, which will also serve for communication between both key and transponder for code interchange. All data and signal exchanges are done through radio waves
Q. Where is my computer or ecu located?
A. The ecu in these Toyota models, is located behind the glove compartment. It is a small metallic box, with numbers in the following format; "89661-02xxx". Examples are: "89661-02K20". "89661-02K21", "89661-02D02", "89661-02C12" and some others.
In the url below, the ecu location is shown:
Q. What is exactly done to my computer?
A. We do not add or remove anything from your computer, neither soldering is done or required. We use special connectors and special contact instruments to read/write the codes from and to your ecu.
Q. Will this void any of my vehicle warranties?
A. Absolutely not. The process is safe for the computer and is within the vehicle specifications. No alterations to the original design or specifications is done.
Q. How long will the service take?
A. The turnaround of the job is just one day. For this you must add the days taken by the delivery service used, which is USPS in most cases, plus any holiday or weekend that may stand in the middle of the delivery.
Q. What shipping services you use?
A. We currently use USPS Priority Mail and Express Mail domestic or international service. The cost can be accurately calculated when you add the item to your cart and click on the "Calculate Shipping" button. FedEx is not a default, but can be arranged if requested by the customer.
